Dunya News

Hanif Jalandhari says talks are also imperative at this juncture of time.

ISLAMABAD (Online): Secretary General of Wifaq-ul-Madaris Al-Arabia, Maulana Hanif Jalandhari has backed the government move to negotiate with Taliban by saying that talks are not only meaningful but also imperative at this juncture.

He was addressing a press conference here on Wednesday.

He was flanked by Deputy Secretary General Qazi Abdul Rashid, Maulana Azhar Ahmed Alvi, Maulana Nazir Ahmed Farooqi, Moulvi Abdul Qadoos Muhammadi and Maulana Ahmed Tanvir Alvi.

He said that he and his organization are ready to play their role for the sake of peace in the country.

The peace process is being deteriorating internally under a conspiracy and all the stakeholders including army, government and Taliban would have to understand the plot.

The religious scholar was of the view that peace can be maintained in the country only through dialogue process.

He said that it is the high time to realize the real threat against Islam and Muslim world as the international agenda is quite open.

Jalandhari said that the unjustified behaviour of the government with the Madaris is intolerable. Some hidden forces are propagating against the Islamic Seminaries.

He asked the government to stop the series of raids against the Madaris and if necessary, investigation may be carried out from the students in transparent manner.

The leader of Wifaq-ul-Madaris said that there was an agreement with the previous government.

If rulers have some apprehensions regarding Madaris, they should contact Wifaq-ul-Madaris Al-Arabia or Ittehad Madaris Deeniya. PML (N) government after coming into power has started the chain of conducting raids on these Madaris, and arresting students.

“Some secret hands are creating misunderstandings between the government and Islamic Seminaries and Prime Minister should take notice on this situation.

He said that Wifaq-ul-Madaris has nothing to do with Mudarbah”, he added.
