PESHAWAR (Online) - In a brutal attack, Taliban beheaded three members of the peace committee in the area of Khyber Agency.
According to media reports, dozens of armed militants attacked on the office of the Shalobar peace committee early in the morning before sunrise in Bara area of Khyber Agency, where some of the members of the peace committee were sleeping.
The assault was so sudden that peace committee members had not any time to respond. Though they fired at the attackers, but Taliban beheaded three militia members on the spot and took another four hostages.
Taliban also took with them all three heads, which they threw on the roadside while fleeing. The three men killed by the militants had recently joined the peace committee as volunteers.
No militant group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack. The political administration of Khyber Agency has started a probe into the incident.
Dozens of leaders and members of the peace committees had been killed in militant’s attacks in the tribal belt during last three years.
