Summary At least 15 people were killed in acts of violence in different parts of Karachi.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Violence and target killing continued in Karachi as 15 more people were killed in different localities of the city during the past 24 hours.
A naval officer, Nadeem, was killed and his wife Bint-e-Zahra, was injured in a firing incident near Karachi s National Stadium on Wednesday.
According to initial details, unidentified armed men – riding a motorbike – opened fire on Captain Nadeem’s car, killing him on the spot and wounding his wife. The attackers flee the scene after the incident.
A navy investigation team and police arrived at the spot soon after the attack.
In Momenabad area, some unidentified miscreants shot dead police Sub-Inspector, Arif. The deceased was currently performing his duties at the Governor’s House.
Some unidentified persons opened fire and shot dead a man named Ali in Niyabad area of Lyari while an activist of a political party, named Shakeel Ahmed was gunned down near Daba More in Orangi Town.
A police official named Haji Javed was shot dead near Johar More in Orangi Town while two men, Khurshid and Bilal were gunned down near Johar Chowk in the same locality.
A labourer, Ijaz was shot dead in Momenabad area while Ayaz was gunned down in Mahmoodabad area of Genisar Goth. The heirs of the deceased staged a protest near Kala Pull at Korangi Road and blocked the road for all kind of traffic.
Some unidentified gunmen shot dead Ameer in Shah Faisal Colony No 3. Police have also recovered two dead bodies from Old Haji Camp and Pak Colony. According to police the deceased were shot dead after being subjected to torture.
