KARACHI (Dunya News) – Supreme Court of Pakistan has issued its detailed verdict in Karachi Law and Order Case.

Earlier, A 5-member bench of the SC headed by Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry resumed the hearing of the case at Karachi Registry on Friday.

During the hearing of the case, the CJP remarked that black money is being used to destroy the peace of the city and ordered the federal government to take steps to prevent it.

DG Rangers presented a report regarding the case in the court, stating that German and US-made 30 bore and 9MM weapons are being used in target killing.

The CJP inquired from the DG Rangers that from where the arms come to Karachi.

The DG Rangers informed the court that different agencies were investigating regarding the weapons.

The apex court ordered the authorities for strict monitoring and checking of the containers which are taken out of Karachi port.

The IGP Sindh said in his statement in the court that 13 persons were killed in Karachi on Thursday and three among them related to target killings. District West area is Taliban movement affected area. 

Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry ordered the IG to complete data and registration of weapons as soon as possible.

Commenting upon extortion, he remarked that extortion money can also be transferred by banks in Karachi. The CJP questioned that why CCTV cameras were not installed till now in the city.

The IG Sindh told the court that funds issued for the purpose had finished. He stressed fresh legislature to stop extortion as people did not even report to police about it.
