Summary At least 14 persons were injured in firing and hand grenade attacks in Lyari on Tuesday.




KARACHI (Dunya News) – Panic spread in Usmanabad, Garden, Chakiwara, Agra Taj Colony and other parts of Lyari after firing and hand grenade attacks.

 

At least 14 people, including five women, were injured hand grenade attacks and firing incidents near Dubai Chowk. The injured were shifted to Lyari Hospital.

 

The residents of the area staged a protest at Aath Chowk against this new wave of violence and raised slogans against police and administration.

 

Speaking on the occasion, MPA from Lyari, Sania Mirza said that people are frustrated by picking up dead bodies from the area every day.

 

The provincial minister for Katchi Abadies & Spatial Development, Javed Nagori while taking to media on the occasion said that the incidents were reported to the police repeatedly, but no action was taken.

 

Meanwhile, SP Tariq Dharejo while speaking to media said that armed men in Lyari would be shot on sight.
