LAHORE (Online) - Punjab Chief Minister Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif lays foundation stone of first 3.8 MW Solar Powered Electricity Generation Plant at University of Agriculture Faisalabad, (UAF).
During his visit to UAF’s Postgraduate Agricultural Research Station (PARS) today (Tuesday), the Chief Minster will also inaugurate the Solar Green Houses that would enable the University to generate green energy a step forward at par with Government to fight energy crisis.
The ground breaking of the plant will be performed at 1100 hrs by the Chief Minister, while UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan, would present the welcome address at the ceremony.
The chief Minster will address the audience at 12:10, while at 12:30 he will also meet an Austrian delegation comprising of Austrian Ambassador HE Mag Axel Wech, former Defense Minster, Austria, Herbert Scheibner, member of Austrian Parliament Gerhard Huber, Austrian Company CEO Rainer Kertes, UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan, UAF Dean Prof Dr Muhammad Iqbal, Apollo Ampex Ltd CEO Shahzada Khurrum, UAF Director Khalid Mahmood and other officials.
During his visit to UAF, the Chief Minister will also inaugurate UAF Community College and Solar Green Houses at Post Graduate Research Station (PARS), Jhang Road that would enable the University get green energy a step forward with the Government to fight energy crisis for economical crop production by minimizing farmers’ cost.
The University is setting the plant in collaboration with Apollo Ampex (Pvt) Ltd to produce clean and pollution free solar energy of 3.8 MW running load.
UAF has taken some tangible steps including the launch of first degree programs of Energy System Engineering, and Environmental Engineering aiming at producing a pool of professionals who would serve the growing sector and cope with energy demands via alternative energy prospects.
