The government has decided to increase natural gas tariff by 18 percent from January 1, 2010. According to sources, the rise in gas tariff will be implemented on all the consumers including CNG stations, reported Dunya News on Wednesday.Sources revealed that the raise in gas tariff will result in increase of tariff for consumers of 50 cubic feet gas to Rs 93.04 per cubic feet. For 50-100 cubic feet consumers it will rise to Rs 99.35, Rs 183 for 100-200 cubic feet and for 200-300 cubic feet consumers it will surge to Rs 350 per month. On the other hand, commercial and ice factories consumers tariff will be Rs 383.39, CNG stations tariff will be Rs 504 and tariff of WAPDA power stations will soar to Rs 394 per cubic feet.The sources said that the notification of tariff raise will be issued on Thursday after approval of the summary from Prime Minister.
