Summary Establishes cell to monitor ATM machines installed by private or public sector banks on Eid days.
ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - State Bank of Pakistan has established monitoring cell to keep an eye on ATM machines installed by different scheduled banks either in private or public sector.
SBP directed all scheduled banks to keep their ATM in operative condition with abundant amount of cash during Eid holidays i.e. from Thursday to Sunday, so that the account holders who want to withdraw cash during closed days may not face any kind of problem.
In this connection, State Bank has appointed an officer Muhammad Faheem Khan as a focal person of the monitoring cell. In case of any complaint regarding ATM, the people can contact him on cellular phone No 0333-5139555 during Eid holidays.
The central bank also issued instructions to the banks that they should get repaired their out of order ATMs within 24 hours otherwise strict action would be taken against the banks whose machines would be found not working and no concession would be given in any case what so ever.
In its directive, SBP said that the ATMs should be checked on daily basis during holidays.
