Floodwater inundates 50 villages in DG Khan, 300 villages in Jaffarbad

Summary NDMA has distributed 13‚300 tents in flood hit areas of Sindh.

 

DERA GHAZI KHAN (Dunya News) –Floodwater has submerged more than 50 villages in Dera Ghazi Khan  after water level rises in Indus River on Wednesday.

 

The flood has damaged hundreds of acres of standing crops in Malkani Qalandar area, however, local administration remained absent from the affected areas.

 

On the other hand, flood torrent in Seem Canal near Jaffarabad has inundated more than 300 villages.

 

According to flood forecasting division, Indus river has attained medium level flood at CHashma where water inflow is 4,34000 cusecs and the outflow is recorded at 4,15000 cusecs.

 

Water inflow at Head Taunsa was recorded at 3,97000 cusecs whereas outflow remained 3,88000 cusecs.

 

There is medium level flood in Indus river at Kalabagh where inflow was 3,51000 cusecs and outflow was 3,43000 cusecs.

 

At Tarbela, water inflow in Indus river was recorded at 2,8000 cusecs and outflow was 2,81000 cusecs.

 

National Disaster Management Authority has so far distributed 13‚300 tents in flood hit areas of Sindh.

 

Meanwhile‚ Flood Cell Peshawar informed that river Panjkora at Dir is in Medium flood today (Wednesday).

 

Similarly‚ river Kabul at Warsak and Nowshera‚ river Indus at Khairabad and river Khiali at Charsadda road are in low flood.
