Gilani says he doesnt support NRO beneficiaries

Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani Thursday said Army played no role in restoration of deposed judges, adding that the military has always supported democracy and for this reason Asif Ali Zardari is the President of Pakistan. Gilani revealed he neither supports NRO beneficiaries nor did he supported imposition of Governor Rule in Punjab.Talking to media in Islamabad, PM Gilani said General Kayani could have supported Musharraf if he wanted but he sided with democracy instead. Army has to implement policies made by the political and democratic government. He said Pakistan Peoples Party is for the first time enjoying good relations with the army and this is a welcome sign. Answering a question, Gilani said Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) works under his authority and he is satisfied with its performance. Army and the government have no confusion on Kerry-Lugar Bill and military is aboard.Talking about National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) beneficiaries, Prime Minister Gilani said if some NRO beneficiary got convicted, he shall be punished.
