Summary The first meeting of the Council of Common Interests (CCI) over energy policy will be held today.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – The Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif will preside over the inaugural meeting of the Council of Common Interests today in Islamabad.
All the chief minister and representatives of the provincial governments will also attend the meeting.
According to the sources the new energy policy would be brought up for approval during the meeting.
The Prime Minister is expected to announce the new energy policy after its approval in the CCI meeting.
Sources further said that the new policy would increase the electricity tariff for all sectors including industruial, commercial, bulk supply, and agricultural tube wells. Household consumers would be exempted from the tariff hike.
