QUETTA (Dunya News) - Unknown gunmen opened fire on a vehicle at Qandhari Bazaar area of Quetta city on Monday, killing two people from the Shia Hazara community, police said.
According to officials, unknown gunmen opened fire on a taxi on Shahrah-e-Iqbal. Two passengers in the taxi were killed on the spot.
“The victims were not indentified but it was sure that these belong to Hazara community, a senior police official in Quetta told media, adding that the attackers fled the scene after the shooting.
Following the incident, residents of the area held a protest, shops and markets were also closed.
This was third incident of target killing since holy month of Ramadhan and 10 people have been killed in sectarian violence so far.
