Some seven power units have been shut due to water deficit in Tarbela Dam. The decline of water in Khanpur Dam would likely to cause suspension of water supply to Islamabad and Rawalpindi. According to Tarbela Dam authorities, the water touched the dead level of 56 feet, while the arrival of water to the dam is 18,500 cusecs feet and the excretion of water is around 28,000 cusecs ft. The water deficit caused decline the power generation to 357megawatts, while of 14, some seven power generation units have stopped functioning. Meanwhile, Khanpur Dam authorities told the Dunya News that the water level in the dam has been reduced to the level of 1,925 cusec ft which is only 15 feet above to the dead level. checked
