Summary Dr. Sattar was addressing media at Karachi airport after returning from Britain.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) senior leader and member of National Assembly Dr. Farooq Sattar Sunday said that media trial of his party was being carried out for the past 30 years, adding that not even a single allegation against MQM was proved in the courts.
Addressing the media at Karachi airport after returning from Britain, Sattar said that metropolitan police have neither indicted nor arrested any of his party worker.
Sattar said he discussed the political and party affairs with party Chief Altaf Hussain along with a long discussion over the legal formalities during his visit.
He said that MQM would not accept media trial against their leader Altaf Hussain and the party.
Sattar further said that foreign media reports regarding involvement of his party chief in money laundering were baseless and far from reality.
In response to the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) documentary aired on Wednesday in which Dr Imran Farooq murder case, money laundering, political influence and several other issues were discussed, Sattar said
“By making such a documentary the BBC seems to be influenced by pro-Taliban forces. ”
Earlier, Dr Farooq Sattar presenting his party’s stance on the issues said that MQM chief Altaf Hussain has never harmed anyone and always gave the lesson of reconciliation and squaring off.
He also denied that money was recovered from Altaf Hussain’s London house and that MQM was involved in money laundering.
