Summary The SC has reserved the decision in the case regarding murder of daughter-in-law of IGP Islamabad.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry started the hearing of the murder of Waheeda Bibi, who was daughter-in-law of sitting Chief of Police Department Federal Capital Territory Bani Amin Khan.
During the hearing, the Chief Justice said in his remarks that the death of Waheeda Bibi was not natural and FIR should have been registered on these bases.
He asked that when the woman was murdered on 19 May, then why the FIR of the case was registered on 10 July.
Latif Afridi, the lawyer of IG Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) told the court that there was not any sign of violence on the dead body. On which the CJP asked him that police has not any right not to register the case. He said that the aim of police to influence the case was to destroy the evidences of the case.
He showed his resentment on the government of KPK and asked that it took what kind of action in this regard.
IG Islamabad Bin Yamin Khan submitted his written reply in the court in which he took stance that on one side hid daughter-in-law has been killed and on the other his honour and respect was also ruined in the case.
“When I saw her dead body , it was felt that she had been poisoned as there were sign of violence on her body”, he added in his statement.
The SSP Islamabad Jamil Hashmi told the court that he had not any role in the case as he had nothing to do with it.
On the other hand Peshawar police arrested Waheeda’s brother Khalid and sister-in-law Fauzia, who were nominated in the FIR lodged by deceased’s mother.
