ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) - Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif visited the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) headquarters on Thursday and discussed the new security policy with Director General Lt General Zaheerul Islam.
The Director General ISI – in the presence of Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani –briefed the prime minister on the intelligence agency’s past policies and future plans to curb security lapses.
The civilian and military leadership also discussed issues pertaining to the Afghanistan situation, Nato pullout and domestic terrorism.
PM Sharif stressed increasing coordination between intelligence agencies and directed that the Prime Minister Office be updated on matters of national importance.
PM Nawaz was accompanied by Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif, PM’s Advisor on Foreign Affairs and National Security Senator Sartaj Aziz, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and some other ministers.
