ISLAMABAD (Online) - Federal Minister for Industries & Production Ghulam Murtaza Jatoi,Wednesday said that subsidized items under Ramzan Relief Package will be available from the 7th of July on all Utility Stores across the country.

 

He said that to ensure smooth running of Ramzan Relief Package abundant stock of commodities has been supplied to all the stores and warehouses.

 

The minister issued strict instructions that complaints of unavailability of items at the stores, hoarding and black marketing will be dealt with seriously.

 

The Ministry of Industries and Utility Stores Corporation has chalked out a comprehensive implementation and monitoring plan for Ramzan Relief Package 2013, the details of which are as follows:

 

The corporation has constituted Monitoring and Inspection teams at zonal level. The purpose of these teams is to ensure the availability of essential commodities, particularly those being sold on subsidized rates and to act as deterrent against any malpractice.

 

Jatoi said that for the first time this year separate teams of the Vigilance and Audit Departments are constituted which will be based at zonal offices.

 

These teams will visit the stores and warehouses on daily basis, carry out the inspection and monitoring of the package and will submit report on daily basis.

 

In addition to this, on the instructions of Secretary Industries one senior executive of the corporation is deputed in every zone. These officers will reach their respective zones before the commencement of Ramzan Package on 5th July, 2013 and will carry out necessary monitoring and inspection to ensure availability of stocks.

 

Secretary Industries has directed the USC administration to set up an Operations Room headed by a Senior General Manager at USC Head Office. The Operations Room will respond promptly to the complaints of customers and will direct the Zonal/ Regional Managers for remedial measures.

 

The Ministry of Industries has deputed Export Processing Zone Authority, whose offices are spread throughout the country, to carry out monitoring and inspection of relief package independently.


Ministry of Industries will also establish an Operations Room in its premises for direct complaints from the customers.

 

The Ministry of Industries has written letters to the Chief Secretaries of Provinces to direct DCs/ DCOs to take swift action in case they find information regarding any illegality, malpractice, black marketing, unauthorized sale and over-pricing etc. at the Utility Stores during Ramzan.
