Govt ignored opposition nominees for NAB chief: Khurshid

Summary Opp leader says proposal of their two names was not considered by the Prime Minister.

 

ISLAMABAD (Web Desk) - Opposition leader in the National Assembly Khurshid Shah has expressed concern that the government ignored the names given by opposition for NAB chairmanship.

 

However, the government rejecting the names proposed by the opposition in the NA and only sent their own names to the opposition leader in the House. 

 

Khurshid Shah said the proposal of their two names was not considered by the Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for the appointment of Chairman NAB. He claimed that according to the amended ordinance it is compulsory to coordinate with the opposition for the appointment of Chairman NAB.

 

The opposition leader informed that they proposed two names Justice (Retd) Mamoon Qazi and Justice (Retd) Sardar Raza for the Chairman NAB, however, the Prime Minister did not consider the names at all for the said appointment. He further added that the names were forwarded after consultation with MQM, PTI and ANP leaders in the National Assembly.
