Musharraf treason case: AG submits govt response in SC
The government decides to go ahead with treason case against Pervez Musharraf.
ISLAMABAD (Dunya News) – Attorney General Munir A. Malik on Monday submitted federal government s stance in the Supreme Court during hearing of a petition seeking trial of former military ruler General (retd) Pervez Musharraf under treason charges.
A three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Jawwad S. Khwaja resumed hearing of the case.
Government s point of view was submitted in the apext court after Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif announced in the parliament that government has decided to proceed with the treason case against Musharraf under Article 6 of the Constitution.
The case relates to imposition of emergency by Pervez Musharraf on November 3, 2007.
