Summary Punjab Health Department has failed to control measles outbreak despite vaccination campaign.
LAHORE (Dunya News): Two more children who had been suffering from measles died in Lahore on Friday, taking the death toll in the current outbreak in Punjab to 102, Dunya News reported.
The victims include six-year-old Sana Zahra and one year old Haleema who were properly treated but unluckily both of them could not survive.
According to hospital sources, the deceased belonged to Sheikhupura.
The provincial government conducted a measles vaccination drive in Lahore earlier this month for children aged between six months and 10 years and immunised over 2.5 million. A vaccination campaign will now be launched on June 11 in 11 other high-risk districts.
