Security forces have ended the operation while all 7 terrorists have been killed. At least 40 people were martyred and 70 others sustained injuries when suicide bombers targeted a mosque after Friday prayer at Parade Lane Peshawar Road in Rawalpindi, Dunya New reported. According to the reports, 7 terrorists came in a car, bearing a fake plate of Islamabad number and was taken on lease from a bank in 2004. Six out of seven terrorists entered into the mosque. Two suicide bombers blew themselves up in Parade Lane mosque near Qasim Market area. The blast was followed by the firing by security personnel deputed at the mosque who hit the attackers. Police and law enforcing agencies reached the scene and cordoned off the area soon after the firing. Snipers had also been deputed on the high-rise buildings in the area, while helicopters hovered overhead throughout the operation. CCPO Rawalpindi has confirmed two blasts. Operation has been ended in which all the seven terrorists have been killed. The dead bodies and the injured have been shifted to the hospital. The area of Qasim Market is considered very sensitive area of Rawalpindi where offices of many sensitive agencies are situated. Earlier, many people were injured in a blast at Johar Chowk in Rawalpindi on March 16. On the other hand security has been put on red alter across the county including Islamabad after the incident.The Prime Minister, the President and other politicians have strongly condemned this heinous incident. Talking to Dunya News, Interior Minister Rehman Malik said that attackers of a mosque cannot be Muslims. These are enemies of Islam and Pakistan. Talking to Dunya News, Ruet-e-Hilal Committee Chairman Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman said that it is forbidden in Islam to harm any persons land, property, honor and suicide bombing is not allowed Islam. Islam does not allow any such atrocious crimes. He said that no Muslim can think of attacking a mosque. Suicide bombers are wrong if they think this is Americas loss instead its Islams and Pakistans loss. All politicians and ulema should be united against terrorism.
