Gas pipeline blown up near Rajanpur

A 24-inch diameter gas pipeline was blown up in Rajanpur by some unidentified miscreants.

 

RAJANPUR (Dunya News) - According to details, some unidentified persons blew up 24-inch diameter gas pipeline carrying gar to Punjab and Guddu Thermal Plant in Shah Wali area near Rajanpur with explosives on early Friday morning.

 

The pipeline caught fire after the explosion, halting the supply of gas to Punjab and Guddu Power Station. The repair work cannot be started as no rescue team was able to reach the blast sight.

 

Due to suspension of gas supply, the CNG stations in Lahore, Sheikhupura, Gugranwala, Gujrat, Sahiwal and Multan will not reopen today. The CNG stations in these regions were scheduled to reopen at 6:00am today. Meanwhile, gas supply to industrial units in Lahore, Sheikhupura and Sahiwal will also remain suspended.
