FAISALABAD (Online): PML-Q leader Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain on Tuesday called on Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to explain its statement on transport facility during the upcoming general election.

In an order on Monday, the ECP banned election candidates from providing transport facilities to voters on the polling day.

Hussain question whether donkey cart and bicycle could be considered as transport.

There could be no change by mere slogans, he said, urging the need to implement the slogan of ‘roti, kapra aur makan.’

“Let’s see who resolves the issues of unemployment and power outages,” he remarked. “Election should be free and fair.”

He expressed concerns about the post-election scenario.

To a question, he said that no meeting was scheduled with former president Pervez Musharraf.
