Two policemen were killed and seven others injured when unidentified assailants targeted a police mobile van using a remote controlled bomb in the area of Yakatoot, Peshawar. This incident happened hours after a suicide attack on a court complex killed 20 people. The police officials said a police mobile on routine patrol in the area under the jurisdiction of Yakatoot police station was attacked with a remote controlled bomb and later police officials also became target of firing. Two policemen including the driver and a constable died while seven others injured were rushed to Lady Reading Hospital, where three of them are stated to be in critical condition. According to the bomb disposal squad, four to five kilograms of explosive material was used in the attack. Interior Minister Rehman Malik has condemned the incident and has asked IG NWFP for the investigation report of this incident. Senior Minister Bashir Bilor has announced assistance of Rs.1.5 million for the aggrieved families.
