All provinces agree to help in war on terror: Tarin

The fifth NFC meeting failed to reach consensus on distribution of revenue from divisible pool as Federal Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin said they wanted to make a pragmatic formula, reported Dunya News on Thursday.Addressing a press conference after the National Finance Commission (NFC) meeting in Karachi, Tarin revealed that all the provinces had agreed to help NWFP. He urged all the people working in Pakistan to contribute to the progress of the country. He stressed the need to generate more revenue for the economic prosperity. Tarin maintained that new formula would not deprive any province of its due rights, adding that the distribution of revenue would be based on population, revenue generation and poverty. He said there was no deadlock on NFC Award and hoped that all the issues would get settled in the next meeting of NFC in Lahore on December 9 and 10 this year.
