LeJ leader Qari Abdul Hai held in Karachi
Qari, wanted in Daniel Pearl case, was former Ameer of Lashkir-e-Jhangvi Sindh chapter.
KARACHI (Dunya News) - Sindh Rangers on Sunday claimed to have arrested Qari Abdul Hai (Asadullah), the former Ameer of the Lashkir-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) Sindh chapter.
Sources said that Hai, who was also involved in American Journalist Daniel Pearl’s murder case, was arrested during raid in University Road area of the city.
The accused was wanted in different incidents of terrorism by the police since 1994.
The accused is said to have planned to attack American troops at Karachi airports in December 2012,” the sources said.
Rangers said that the Hai was also involved in sending bomb parcels to the Crime Investigation Department (CID) officials.
The militant leader was also wanted for his involvement in various acts of terrorism, including the 2002 murder of US journalist Daniel Pearl.
