IG Sindh claims arrest of five terrorists

Five terrorists including one TTP and four LeJ and activists were arrested in Karachi on Monday.

 

KARACHI (Dunya News, Web Desk) - Addressing a press conference here, IG Sindh Fayyaz Leghari claimed that four activists of banned Lashkar-e-Jhangvi (LeJ) and one member of banned Tehereek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) were arrested by the police.


He said the accused confessed that they were involved in the target killings of more than 25 people.


IG Sindh said that those arrested included Saif-ur-Rehman, Muhammad Ali, Abdul Ghani and Wahid Gul who belonged to Asif Chotu group of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi.


Leghari claimed that 50 kilogram of explosives; detonators and a large number of weapons were recovered from the accused.


He said that one of the accused was involved in the first blast of Abbas Town.


The IG further said that accused Saif-ur-Rehman was expert in bomb making while Abdul Ghani was involved in bomb blasts at Imambargah Haider Karar.
