Competition Commission Chairman Khalid Mirza says that Pakistan sugar mills association has confessed manipulation to get sugar production and distribution. After the hearing of a case about monopoly in sugar industry, Mirza told Dunya News that sugar mill association confessed it violated competition ordinance and sought courts relaxation under section 39. He told that the commission would decide about giving relaxation after November 24 hearing of the case. Competition Commission can fine up to Rs 50 million if charges of monopoly and manipulation are proven.
