Lawyers boycott courts over colleagues' killing
The lawyers have demanded the government to immediately arrest the criminals.
LAHORE: The lawyers fraternity have boycotted court proceedings in different parts of the country over the killing of their colleagues, Dunya News reported on Saturday.
Two senior lawyers, M.M. Tariq and Jarar Hussain, were gunned down on Friday in Karachi and Peshawar respectively.
In Karachi, the lawyers boycotted city and Malir court. The proceedings in session, district, Model Town and Cantt courts were boycotted by lawyers in Lahore. Meanwhile. the lawyers didn’t appear during court proceedings in Rawalpindi.
In Peshawar, lawyers observed strike in all courts for the second consecutive day.
The lawyers have also announced to boycott court proceedings on Monday on the call of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council. They have demanded the government to immediately arrest the criminals.
