New province issue: Mianwali observes shutter-down strike
The protestors have said that they wont allow a the new province to grab Mianwalis resources.
MIANWALI: A shutter-down strike is being observed in Mianwali on Monday against inclusion of the district in the proposed ‘Bahawalpur South Punjab’ province, Dunya News reported.
The strike was announced by traders union and district bar association.
According to details, business centers in Mianwali, Bhakkar, Kala Bagh and adjoirning areas remained closed.
Residents of the area have rejected inclusion of Mianwali in the newly proposed province.
Also, the protestors have staged a sit-in near Jahaz Chowk to press the authorities to address their demand.
