Summary Parliamentary Commission has agreed to name the new province as Bahawalpur South Punjab.
After having a meeting of parliamentary commission chaired by Farhatullah Baber, member commission Kamil Ali Agha while talking to the media said that they have reached consensus to name the new province as Bahawalpur South Punjab.
He added that the demand of PML-Q regarding inclusion of Mianwali and Bhakkar in new province also has been accepted.
Commission chairman Farhatullah Baber was of the view that at least seven to eight amendments have been recommended for establishment of new province in Punjab and in this regard an amendment bill would be introduced very soon.
Before this, members’ parliament hailing from Multan, Bahawalpur and DG Khan also attended the meeting of the aforesaid commission.
It is worthy of mention that government member Hayat Khan Tochi boycotted the meeting while raising his objections on the formation of parliamentary commission.
