UNITED NATIONS: The United Nations set has rejected an Indian demand to put an end to its military observer mission in Kashmir.
According a spokesman for the UN Secretary General Martin Nesirky, the mandate of its UN Military Observer would continue to exist as only its Security Council could decide to end it.
It said the observer was fully active in Kashmir. Indian Envoy to the United Nations on Monday demanded the UN end its observer mission, which monitors ceasefire agreed between Pakistan and India in Jammu and Kashmir.
