ISLAMABAD: Khawaja Saad Rafiq has expressed his disappointment at a totally incomprehensible verdict of Supreme Court, regarding arrest of prime minister Raja Pervez Ashraf.
Expressing his reaction to Supreme Court’s orders, he also demanded an immediate summons of joint session of Parliament to debate the thorny crisis.
“If the issue is taken up by any other institution, other than parliament, it would be against the national interests”, he said.
Opining that there was nothing wrong in pre-mature elections, he stressed that President Asif Ali Zardari should immediately announce about a caretaker setup, and date for elections.
He expressed his concerns that the ongoing state-of-affairs pointed to conspiracy against democracy.
