ISLAMABAD: In an exclusive live interview to the state radio‚ Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira said this step is in accordance with the constitution and not against the democratic norms.
Regretting the loss of precious lives in the Quetta explosions‚ he said soon after the tragedy‚ the leadership of Pakistan People s Party asked its local leadership in the province to sort out the issue. This was followed by the visits of the cabinet members and finally the prime minister.
The information minister said the members of Hazara community resorted to a powerful mode of protest by remaining silence and not burying the victims of the blasts. This protest of children‚ women and men in extremely cold weather was so powerful that it jolted the entire Pakistan and the world.
He expressed the confidence that the governor rule will be able to create an enabling environment in the next two months for the holding of general elections in a peaceful environment.
He said Frontier Corps has been given powers of police and have been directed to launch targeted operations for the arrest of suspected people. He assured that the federal government will provide all the necessary manpower for improvement of situation in the province.
