Governor rule imposed in Balochistan
Prime Minister has dismissed Balochistan government and imposed Governor's rule.
Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf announced to impose Governor Rule in Balochistan under article 234 with immediate effect and Zulfiqar Magsi will remain the Governor.
The Prime Minister made this announcement at Imam Bargah, Alamdar Road in Quetta in the early hours of Monday where he went to hold negotiations with the Hazara community.
The Prime Minister announced that provincial government of Balochistan has been suspended. FC will maintain law and order situation in the province, he added. He also announced to give compensation to the bereaved families.
The Prime Minister also offered ‘Fateha’ for those who lost their lives in the recent bomb blasts and other terrorism incidents.
Governor Balochistan Nawab Zulfiqar Magsi, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira and other officials accompanied the Prime Minister on this occasion.
On the demand to hand over Quetta to Army, the Prime Minister said after Governor Rule, the Governor can call Army if necessary.
Earlier the Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf held telephonic conversation with MQM Quaid, Altaf Hussain, Quaid PML (N) Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, President ANP, Asfandyar Wali, President PML(Q), Chaudhry Shujat Hussain, Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Pervez Elahi, JUI (F) Chief Maulana Fazal ur Rehman and BNP (A) Chief Senator Mir Israrullah Zehri.
During this conversation, the Prime Minister talked to them in detail about the prevailing situation in Balochistan with specific reference to the situation arising in the wake of terrorist attacks on Thursday where innocent civilians embraced shahadat.
The Prime Minister took them into confidence over the measures being taken by the government to address the situation.
