The contingents of Pakistan Army today visited the offices of registration officers of Election Commission of Pakistan and discussed door-to-door confirmation of voters in Karachi.
The Provincial Election Commissioner of Sindh, Mehboob Anwer, told a press conference that the exercise was being carried on the directives of the Supreme Court of Pakistan.
The provincial election commissioner said that his office had completed all the necessary work in this regard including the selection of staff, their training, provision of stationary and other facilities.
The staff of provincial election commission including five Registration Officers (ROs), 197 Assistant Registration Officers (AROs), 3216 supervisors and 11,300 verification officials will start door-to-door verification of more than 6.9 million voters in Karachi from today (Thursday) along with the personnel of Army, Rangers and Frontier Corps (FC).
