MULTAN: Talking to media after attending the death anniversary of Syed Mukhtar Hussain Gilani, Syed Yousaf Gilani said that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) is the only party that took bold steps for the revival of the Constitution and parliament.
To a question, Gilani said that judiciary and government showed flexibility for Raja Pervaiz Ashraf, adding he said, “I am happy that my point of view has been taken as correct”.
Commenting on the PML-Q and MQM decision to participate in Qadri’s long march, the former PM maintained that both parties decision is beyond comprehension as both MQM and PML-Q are coalition partners in the PPP-led government.
“The forthcoming election would foil all the conspiracies against the PPP, adding that the masses would reelect the PPP by keeping in view the performance of the government.
Replying to another question, Gilani said that the caretaker government has no constitutional ratification and its duration cannot be prolonged.
The former PM said that talks can only be held with Taliban if they would remain peaceful.
