Summary
Clocks in Pakistan will officially be put back by an hour as the daylight saving time will end at the stroke of midnight today, Dunya News Saturday reported. The daylight saving move was implemented to save energy in the wake of worse energy crisis. Daylight saving time was used to save energy by extending daylight hence reducing the need to use artificial lighting, air-conditioning and other electrical appliances. Electricity supplies to homes, businesses and factories across Pakistan were cut for several hours a day to overcome the energy crisis in the country. The government had decided to maintain the daylight saving time till October 31st. The change had put Pakistan six hours ahead of GMT.
