Govt determined to purge society of militancy, extremism: Zardari

President Asif Ali Zardari has said that the government is fully determined to purge the society of militancy and extremism and to ensure peace and prosperity of future generations not only in Pakistan but also in the region and the world as well. He was addressing the partys MNAs, MPAs and PPP ticket holders from Lahore division in the Presidency on Friday night. The interaction was part of consultative meetings the President has been holding with party leaders from different divisions of the country to discuss issues of national importance. Current political situation in the country, the ongoing military operation against extremism and militancy and party matters were discussed in the meeting. The President while condemning the heinous attack in Peshawar on Wednesday said that the ongoing drive against the militants and extremists was imperative and there was no turning back from it till the complete elimination of the militants. The President paid tributes to the soldiers and law enforcing agencies for their courage and heroism. The participants of the meeting spoke on host of issues and also raised some issues relating to their constituencies. Federal Ministers Raja Pervez Ashraf, Nazar Mohammad Gondal, Mian Manzoor Watoo, Babar Awan, Secretary General PPP Senator Jahangir Badar, MNAs Ms Fouzia Wahab, Ms Rukhshana Bangash and Fouzia Habib were also present during the meeting.
