Summary MQM has challenged the results of recently held by-polls in the apex court.
LAHORE: A writ has been filed in Supreme Court Registry saying that open rigging was committed during Punjab by-polls.
A delegation led by MQM Central Executive Committee member Anwar Shaheen reached the Supreme Court Registry Lahore where Advocate Qazi Mubeen filed a writ petition.
The petition says that Punjab police was used as a political power in the by-polls held on December 4.
The petitioner prays that stern legal action should be taken against the responsible persons.
The petition also referred to the Wahida Shah’s case.
The MQM has also requested the court that special orders should be issued for implementation on PEC’s code of conduct during the general elections.
