Summary Asfand Wali says ANP is proud of its martyrs and will not budge from its stance.

PESHAWAR: Addressing a press conference Asfand Wali Yar Khan said a particular mindset was against democracy and wanted to sabotage the upcoming elections.

“Postponement of elections spells devastation for the country,” he said.

“ANP will not withdraw from the political process or the elections at any cost,” he said.

He said terrorism is common national threat, and all political parties must devise a joint and unambiguous strategy in this regard.

“It is not the problem of ANP alone, all will have to play role,” he said.

Hailing the role of media, Asfand said war against terrorists cannot be won without the support of media.

He appreciated the way media responded to the killing of Bashir Ahmad Bilour.

“This country belongs to all of us and it is our collective responsibility to safeguard it” said ANP leader.

He said some leaders apply double standards while reacting to drone attacks and suicide bombings.

“There is no doubt that drone attacks are beyond the UN mandate as it is violation of Pakistan’s aerial boundaries but what about the attacks on Pakistani cities by the terrorists,” he said.

The activities of terrorists and extremists also are in contravention of country s sovereignty and integrity, he added.

Asfand announced making Haroon Bilour the special advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa.

Ameer Haider Hoti, Zahid Khan and Haji Ghulam Ahmad Baloch were also present at the press conference.

The consultative meeting of the Awami National Party passed a resolution paying rich tributes to the sacrifice rendered by Senior Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Bashir Bilour and other people in the fight against terrorism.

The resolution said the blood rendered by Bashir Bilour and other people will not go in vain and the fight against terrorism will be continued with valor and courage.
