At least 12 militants have been killed in the bombardment of security forces in different areas of South Waziristan. Operation commander Major General Khalid Rabbani said during a press briefing to the journalists that mora than half of the area in South Waziristan has been cleared of militants and areas of Spin Jamaat, Lal Masjid and Sherongai have also been cleared. He said that the forces are facing stiff resistance from Uzbek, Chechen and Arab militants. He said that 82 militants were injured during different clashes. He said that heavy ammunition recovered during the search operation. The security forces destroyed many hideouts of militants. Forces are continuously advancing. He said that 6 security officials have been martyred so far in operation Rah-e-Nijaat while operation may take 2-3 months to end. According to sources, the forces have occupied areas of Nawaz Kot, Lagri and Ispin Qamar.
