Universities in Punjab will open from Monday: Governor Punjab

Governor Punjab Salman Taseer has directed the vice chancellors of the universities in Punjab to open universities from Monday while NWFP government has announced to open the educational institutes on November 2. Governor Punjab asked the vice chancellors to make the security of the institutions foolproof. He warned that any negligence in this regard would not be forgiven. On the other hand, education institutes of Federal Board, Sindh and Balochistan are also opening from Monday. All the army public schools and colleges will also resume education activities from the same day. According to DG ISPR Major General Athar Abbas, all the army public schools and federal board education institutes will open from October 26. After the GHQ attack, the militants had threatened to target the government installations and education institutes specially army public schools and colleges. Adopting precautionary measurements after the suicide attacks in International Islamic University, all the schools and colleges were closed.
