KHI unrest: SC curbs revenue dept on land transfer
SC declared all cases of public land transfer after the assassination of Benazir as illegal.
A five-member bench headed by Justice Anwar Zaheer Jamali heard the case pertaining to the law and order situation in Karachi at Supreme Court Karachi registry.
The Supreme Court declared all cases of public land transfer after the assassination of Benzair Bhutto as null and void.
The bench barred the revenue department from further land transfer. It directed the authorities to issue notification in this regard by today.
The bench also sought the record of land transfer after Benazir’s assassination, adding that ownership shouldn’t be given to anyone from now onward.
The Rangers requested the court to allow them to form investigation centre. Meanwhile, Justice Khilji Arif questioned about the number of weapons seized during different operations by the law enforcement agencies.
