Summary Senate body has asked NHA to present details of development projects worth Rs 10 billion in Multan.
Senate Standing Committee on Communication has sought details from National High Way Authority in respect of Rs 10 billion development projects at Multan.
The committee also said names of the departments besides PSDP be ascertained from the PM, which have released the funds for these projects. If the funds related to other provinces have been utilized then stern action should be taken against the persons found responsible.
Member of the committee Senator Zahid Khan inquired if the development projects launched in Multan related to Punjab government or NHA and from where the funds had come in respect of these projects. If the tenders of these projects were opened or otherwise, he further asked.
Committee while taking serious note of alleged corruption in NHA has sought details of its ongoing projects.
The committee expelled the joint secretary from the meeting due to non participation of the secretary communication.
Committee constituted a sub-committee under senator Zahid Khan to review the ongoing projects and those projects which were completed during the last five years.
