Summary The US Ambassador to Pakistan hinted at replacing Drone attacks with joint operation with Pakistan.
While talking to ‘Online’ here at a ceremony held to mark the National Day of Poland’, Richard Olson Tuesday hinted at the US inclination to replace ongoing unilateral counter terror measures (drone attacks) on Pakistani areas with some sort of joint operation against terrorists and extremists. “You know better, my constraints to talk on this issue” he added.
“But we appreciate Pak-US cooperation in war the terror”, he added while responding to a question about good will gestures shown by the Pakistani authorities to ensure peace and stability in the region with specific backdrop of Afghanistan. Pakistan invited Afghan Aman council head to visit Pakistan as well as moved forward to hold consultation with Qatar based stakeholders.
“We are happy with peace development visit and gestures expressed by both sides” Olson observed.
To another question, the envoy said that both the countries, Pakistan and United States, had been already working for early resumption of strategic dialogue by activating working groups, hopefully, strategic dialogue would resume in next month, December.
Senate Chairman Nayyar Hussain Bokhari was the chief guest at the ceremony while Federal Minster for Capital Administration and Development Division Nazar Muhammad Gondal, British High Commissioner to Pakistan and a large number of other dignitaries were attended the said celebrations.
He also disclosed that both the Pakistan and US were already working on resuming strategic dialogue process, hopefully in December.
