Summary The National Assembly on Monday passed resolution to deweaponise the entire country.
The resolution was tabled by the MQM while ANP, JUI-F and PML-N opposed it.
The resolution moved by MQM leader Dr Farooq Sattar says that all parties should forget their interests for the sake of Pakistan.
JUI-F chief Maulana Fazl-ur-Rehman said that the country cannot be deweaponise only with passing a resolution.
Roahail Asghar of PML-N said that only the departments concerned can seize the illegal weapons.
Bushra Gohar of ANP said that Karachi has become a dangerous city regarding accumulation of weapons so first of all Karachi should be deweponised.
Talking to media after passage of resolution, Dr Farooq Sattar said that everybody knows where the weapons are manufactured. He said that the disease should also be cured along with diagnosis.
Farooq sattar further said when the whole country is deweaponised, both Karachi and Lahore will become weapon-free cities.
It is worth mentioning here that the MQM had expressed its concerns after the Senate on Monday passed resolution of deweponising Karachi.
