 Doctors' strike in Balochistan enters 28th day

Summary Balochistan doctors’ strike against target killing and abduction entered its 28th day on Tuesday.

 

Doctor Muhammad Saeed Khan of LRBT could not be recovered despite 28 days have lapsed.


On the call all Pakistan medical association, doctors have gone on strike as a reaction against abduction of their colleague.


General operation theatres and out-patient departments in state-owned hospitals and clinics remained completely closed.
The patients continued to experience severe difficulties in obtaining medical assistance due to the doctors’ strike.


The privately-owned hospitals and clinics experienced a sharp rise in the numbers of patients due to the strike in state-owned hospitals. Underprivileged patients bore the brunt of the strike as they were unable to bear the expenses of private healthcare institutions.
