Summary Police used teargas and baton charged a protest rally organized against target killing in Karachi.

The police baton charged the rally near central Numaish district of Karachi after which the protestors became angry set tyres on fire to block the traffic flow.The participants of the rally organized by Pasban-e-Aza raised strong protest against the police baton charging and shelling and set tyres on fire to block one of the busiest roads in the central district of the city.Police baton charged and tear gassed the protestors.Police also resorted to aerial firing which caused sense of fear and apprehension in the area and adjoining areas. Police has arrested a large number of protestors and shifted them to nearby police stations.The traffic between Numaish Chowrangi and Tower remains suspended still.Meanwhile, ban has been imposed on pillion riding in Karachi.
