Summary The Election Commission submitted reply regarding voting lists case in the Supreme Court Thursday.
Three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry conducted hearing of the case.Director General Election Commission Shair Afghan told the court that according to agreement both the Election Commission and NADRA would complete preparation and verification of voting lists.He also told that more than 2.5 million new voters have come on the surface. Furthering his statement he said that about 4.8 billion voters have been registered on permanent addresses while 4.2 million voters have introduced their permanent as well as temporary address as same.He also said that the errors and amendments may be mended after announcement of election schedule.Chief Justice directed the Election Commission to remove reservations in consultation with of voters regardless of their areas.
